Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research is a leading center for psychoanalytic education, research and training. The Center needed to improve the design and usability of its current website, enhance site features, and have the ability to maintain the site internally and independently after launch.
Cabengo worked closely with the Center to clarify objectives, target audiences, and essential features and functions. We then developed an architecture strategy and unified navigation to improve usefulness and usability. We designed a fresh, sophisticated skin, with a contemporary palette and modular layout to help position the Center as a preeminent training program and vital intellectual center, at the forefront of education, research, and clinical practice.
Through strategic content and user-centered information and interaction design, the website provides information and resources to a range of core audiences, from active faculty and Graduate Society members to prospective candidates and potential patients. It helps make the case both for the Center and the larger field of psychoanalysis.
Our development partner, DPCI, implemented Drupal, an open-source CMS solution, to enable non-technical staff to maintain the content on the site after launch. A scalable framework, Drupal can be expanded as the Center adds new functionality in later phases.
